Amnon Barnea, DPM
Founder & Medical Director, Walk NYC Podiatry
Dr. Amnon Barnea is the founder of Walk NYC Podiatry, a Manhattan practice established in 2009. With over two decades of clinical experience in New York City, he completed his surgical residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine after earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University.
He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry and is a member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine and the American College of Foot & Ankle Pediatrics.
Dr. Barnea has been featured in national publications including Esquire, Oprah Daily, New York Magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar, where he provides expert insight on footwear, biomechanics, and foot health.
Walk NYC Podiatry is centrally located on Park Avenue in Manhattan, just steps from Grand Central Station. Dr. Barnea treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, with particular expertise in sports medicine, trauma, pediatrics, biomechanics, regenerative medicine, and surgery. He takes a precise, analytical approach to complex cases, guiding patients through care focused on the foot as the foundation of movement and its influence on overall body alignment – integrated with advanced regenerative treatments to support the body’s natural healing.
Dr. Barnea is involved in ongoing biomechanics-related research in collaboration with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York and recently completed a research project at Temple University focused on improving gait and mobility. His work also includes published articles and speaking engagements.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Barnea is undergoing advanced training in the study of wine, working toward certification as a sommelier – an ongoing personal pursuit. Wine conversations are on the house.
